According to mountaineering legend, Peter Habeler, the most beautiful peaks can be found in his native Zillertal. A trail has even been name after him there, the Peter-Habeler-Route.The 60 km round hike leads past 6 mountain refuge huts and around the second highest mountain in the Zillertal Alps, the Olperer.
Spend your summer holiday at the foot of the Nature Park of the Zillertal Alps. . These high alpine landscapes, known as the Zillertal Main Ridge, have been under protection since 1991 and were awarded with the title, "Nature Park" in 2001 - an internationally recognized conservation category.
Steep rock faces, glaciers & peaks. The Nature Park covers an area of 422 km² and extends over altitudes ranging from ca. 1,000m to 3,510 metres above sea level. Eight mountain huts, numerous three thousand metre peaks with steep rocky faces and unique vegetation characterize these beautiful high alpine mountain landscapes.

Cyclists can look forward to exploring the 800 km cycle trail network suitable for all levels of ability in our holiday region. Mayrhofen has long been a cult destination for the cycling scene. And that's not just because of the 21 exciting MTB routes. Cyclists have been flocking to Mayrhofen for many years now to cycle the popular routes to the Schlegeis Reservoir or Pitscher Joch whilst crossing the Alps. The legendary Trans Alp Challenge has already been staged here several times over and Mayrhofen was a stage in the Giro d`Italia for the first time ever in year 2009.

Swimming
It doesn't matter if you are in the indoor or outdoor pool, swimming is one of the healthiest sports around, during which almost all muscles are activated and provided with oxygen. Swimming represents low impact exercise, as the power of gravity is reduced in water. Joints and ligaments move without being under any pressure - core muscle are strengthened.
Erlebnisbad Mayrhofen
The Erlebnisbad outdoor leisure pool in Zillertal guarantees fun for water babies of all ages. From serious swimmers to serious sun bathers you'll all find just what you"re looking for. Sporty swimmers can complete a few lengths of the sports pool (25 m long), while the little ones make a splash in the kid's pool. Special fun can be had on the 45 m long slide! A large sun bathing lawn with play and sports area, slides, swings, climbing frames, beach volleyball court and trampoline, ... add even more variety. You can chill out and relax in the quiet zone on the rooftop terrace.
Hippach Summer World
Sommerwelt Hippach guarantees water fun for the whole family. Water babes can look forward to an adventure pool with waterslide and double wave slide, lazy river, sitting area with climbing rope, underwater bubbles, waterfall shower, a sports pool as well as a disgnated children's pool at Hippach outdoor pool.
Sommerwelt Hippach is also equipped with 2 beach volleyball courts (the largest beach volleyball facility in Tirol), Ball game courts and trampolines, Bouncy castle, children's play area, climbing wall and large sand pit, as well as various play equipment
Action
Climbing is and remains an incredibly special experience. You will find bizarre rock formations and steep rock faces for climbing & bouldering in the Zillertal Alps Nature Park, that promise pure excitement for climbing enthusiasts. Numerous via Ferrate & climbing routes in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region (for beginners, advanced & pros) provide you with just the right challenge. You will find two climbing areas graded 4 - 8+ on Mount Penken as well as a via Ferrata route where beginners can get a taste of the climbing spirit. Equipment can be borrowed free of charge from the funsport station next to the Penken Kombibahn.
RAFTING - An adventure sport which combines experiencing nature, sporty action and team spirit. The only prerequisite for this sport is the ability to swim. You will be introduced to all the other "Rafting Secrets" before the fun begins on the raging rapids!
CANYONING - Canyons and gorges can be found on the outskirts of Mayrhofen, well away from standard walking trails. The only way to get through these is by climbing, swimming or abseiling! The route leading to a safe exit point leads past thundering waterfalls, over gigantic rocks and through crystal clear mountain waters. Canyoning tours are offered daily by various outdoor sport providers.
The high rope course in the Mayrhofen-Hippach holiday region is located in the romantic Zemmschlucht Gorge in Zillertal. It has been constructed around natural trees to fit in with the natural environment, at the edge of a ravine. The rope course was designed and built in its entirety by our mountain guides according to the latest European rope course specifications 34 exercises in varying levels of difficulty require a certain level of self confidence. Impressive Drops of up to 88 metres into the Zemmschlucht gorge will demand your complete attention. 3 120 metre long zip lines provide access from station to station, or your descent to the forest floor.
Golf
Golf Course Zillertal - the 18 hole championship course in Uderns in Zillertal extends over an area of 65 hectares and offers a spacious practice area with covered tees and a short game area, PGA Golf School, Clubhouse, Golf Hotel and Restaurant.
