Winter in Mayrhofen in Your 4* Skihotel Gasthof Brücke
Attention - Attention: Party alert in the ski area
Enjoy cosy skiing or action - you decide!
But before every Après Ski Party is actually skiing on the program and with the 136 kilometres of slopes the Mayrhofner Bergbahnen offers plenty of possibilities. The two skiing mountains - the Ahorn and the Penken – will satisfy every skier or snowboarder. With the Ahornbahn, Austria’s largest cable car, you are transported in just minutes to the Ahorn mountain with wide, gentle pistes and the White Lounge igloo village at 2,000m where you can relax and enjoy stunning panoramic views. The diversity of Mayrhofen becomes evident when you move from the leisure mountain Ahorn to the action mountain Penken where a serious challenge awaits you: The Harakiri is the steepest piste in Austria and a legend in itself. The 78% gradient is just begging to be conquered!
Party, People, Entertainment - that's on our agenda! And not just anywhere, no - directly in our hotel at the ski lifts. In Winter time all hell is let loose on by our daily Après Ski Parties. We know that Après Ski with Mulled wine and Jägerbombs belong to ski holidays just as the binding on your skies, that is we celebrate every day a huge party with our top DJ's until the late hours. Having fun, meeting new people, having a drink or two - we hope to see you!
Ski & Snowboard
Action Mount Penken
The extensive ski area on Mount Penken with the ski resorts of Finkenberg, Rastkogel and Eggalm is one of the largest and most diverse ski areas in Austria. The Harakiri Piste with its 78% gradient - Austria's steepest ski slope - is a special challenge for those that dare. Boarders and free skiers meet at Vans Penken Park, where 6 areas offer a wide choice of terrain for every level of ability, pros and rookies alike. Particularly beginners and younger freestyle acrobats get their money's worth here because the Kids Park - also equipped with its own lift - offers perfect conditions to hone all of their tricks. Highlights include the huge Rainbow Box, the imposing Wallride at the foot of the park, and the massive "Beastbox" multi-jib.
Leisure Mount Ahorn
Perfect for beginners, novices and families. The challenging 5.5 kilometre long groomed downhill valley run to Mayrhofen promises unadulterated alpine pleasure to sporty skiers and boarders. Tobogganing in Zillertal
Tobogganing and mountain hut magic
Kids love it, adults even more! Stroll through snowy winter landscapes to the Wiesenhof in Mayrhofen or the Tristenbachalm in the romantic Floitental Valley in Ginzling.
Once there, you can reward yourself with a warming "Jagatee" (hunter's tea with wine, schnapps and rum!) or a tasty snack before whizzing back down to the valley down the toboggan run! The mountain huts have sleds you can borrow.
Savour a snow-filled day on one of the fantastic toboggan runs in our mountains:
- Gasthof Wiesenhof, 1,560 m – natural toboggan run – Mayrhofen
Here can you stoke up beforehand with a delicious meal and a warm drink before tobogganing all the way down to Mayrhofen. As the natural toboggan run is not illuminated, we recommend you take a torch or headlamp. Ascent: on foot or by taxi.
- Gerlosstein, 1,650 m – 7km – longest floodlit toboggan run in Zillertal
If you head towards Gerlos from Zell am Ziller, you will arrive at the sleepy village of Hainzenberg. It is quick and easy to reach the toboggan run at 1,650 metres using the Gerlosstein lift. There are inns on the way down should you fancy a relaxing break.
